Memorial Weekend Beachgoers Face Rip Current Risk

Millions of beachgoers seeking sun and sand on Sunday will face the risk of rip currents. The highest risk will be for southeastern Florida, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm beaches. A moderate risk will extend up much of the Southeast Coast, from Florida to North Carolina, including the Outer Banks. There’s also a moderate risk of rip currents for a large chunk of the Florida Panhandle. Make sure you swim near a lifeguard and pay attention to the beach warning flags.
